The Jets have agreed to a multi-year contract extension with fourth-year tight end Jeremy Ruckert.

Ruckert, the Long Island native who was the Jets’ third-round selection (101st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, has seen his playtime and production increase steadily as a reliable blocking and receiving TE in each of his four seasons in green and white.

He has set career highs in several categories this season. He’s made 12 starts and played in all 14 games, catching 20 passes for 163 yards. He’s at 383 offensive snaps, averaging more than 27 snaps a game, and with 11 more offensive snaps over the final three games, he will set a career high in that metric as well.

Ruckert got his first NFL touchdown reception on a 5-yard toss from Tyrod Taylor late in the Week 2 game against Buffalo. He has set career highs with four receptions against Dallas and at New England and had a career-long 24-yard catch in the comeback win at Cincinnati. Twenty of his 55 career receptions have converted first downs.
