The Miami Dolphins signed linebacker Jackson Woodard off the Houston Texans practice squad, filling the spot on the roster that opened when veteran pass rusher Matthew Judon was waived.
Woodard, 23, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL draft, but spent less than a week with the team before he was waived. The Texans scooped him up and he’s spent most of the season on the team’s practice squad.
In Week 12, the Texans elevated Woodard to the active roster and he played 24 snaps on special teams.
The former Arkansas linebacker transferred to UNLV where he played his last two collegiate seasons. He was First Team All-Mountain West in 2023 and the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2024 after finishing his final season with 17 tackles for loss, 12 pass breakups, and 3.5 sacks.
The Dolphins also announced Wednesday that they signed linebacker Andre Carter II to the practice squad, just a couple days after waiving him to make room for Quinton Bell. Tight end Tanner Conner was released from the practice squad to make room.
