SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans owner, Gayle Benson, arrived in Shreveport Wednesday (Dec. 17) to bring some holiday cheer to local veterans.

“It’s just such a great honor for me. I am very humbled to be able to come out to Shreveport and give so many gifts to so many needy people. And I’m always touched by the veterans, so it’s been a real thrill for me to be here,” Benson said.
Benson remarked how giving back to veterans is something she does because many people who were close to her served in the military.
She emphasized the importance of giving back to her community and how she encourages others to do the same.

“In sports, we do so many things and philanthropy is just a part of it. We meet with the community and giving back is so important, and when I give back, many of my team members follows suit,” Benson said.
