Things didn’t exactly end well in Dallas between Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and star pass rusher Micah Parsons.
That doesn’t mean Jones wasn’t sick about Parsons’ brutal injury that ended his 2025 season with Green Bay.
Parsons, who’d been thriving in his first season in Green Bay since being sent to the Packers prior to the season, suffered a torn ACL on Sunday and will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee. It’s the first major injury of Parsons’ career.
Jones was asked about the injury in his weekly visit with Shan and Rj on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM), and while the end of Parsons’ Cowboys career went sideways in a contract dispute with Jones that ultimately led to the trade, Jones only had good vibes for his former star pass rusher. He even used an anecdote from the career of Michael Irvin to speak through the radio to Parsons and offer up a bit of motivation as the edge rusher begins a lengthy rehab.

See what Jones had to say below.
Question: Jerry, awful injury for Micah Parsons, do you have any reaction to Micah being hurt for the year, or how that trade worked out for you guys looking back?
Jones: “I’m sad for Micah. That’s quite a challenge, and I wish him the very best on his recovery.
“I never forget, I always use this: Michael Irvin said, when he had his big surgery during I think his second year with the Cowboys.
“He said he realized what football really did mean to him. And he said the surgery really launched him into the best parts of his career, because he got to feel what it might be like not to play again.
“So there’s a lot of ways you can couch this thing, but Micah, I wish you the very best.”
