You’re never too young to learn how to manage money, and elementary school students in Maryland are getting a lesson in finance with the help of some famous faces.
As Karin Mallett shows, they are fresh off the football field.
The Baltimore Ravens will face the New England Patriots on Sunday but players took some time out of their busy NFL schedules to give back, and this time it was a lesson that these kids will make good use of throughout their lives.Â
These 4th graders are learning about money from their idols on the football field.
Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers was playing financial wellness Jenga and working on a game day budget with the kids.
“It was really fun meeting someone really famous like that,” said one student.
“This is the best day ever, and I will never wash his hand for the next 20 years or eternity,” said another student.
“Learn as early as you can and just applying it to your life because it’s gonna help you in the long run, learning how to save your money because there’s a lot of people that be in my position and lose everything they got,” Flowers said.
“So, learning it early, they’ll learn how to take care of it and know what the difference between needs and wants are.”
The money classes are a partnership with the team and M&T Bank and the Ravens Financial Fitness Academy.Â
It’s for kids in 4th through 6th grade all over the state of Maryland.Â
