ESPN has released its 2025 projections, including projected stats for Jacksonville Jaguars’ second overall pick, Travis Hunter, in his rookie season.

Each offseason, Mike Clay puts together his forecast for each NFL team. Among the individual player projections, Clay also has win probabilities for each game as well.

As far as Hunter goes, on offense, no surprise, he is going to be heavily targeted. Clay projects that Hunter will have 110 targets on the season, catching 73 of those passes for 884 yards with five touchdowns.

Of note, Brian Thomas is projected to catch 85 passes on 134 targets for 1,177 yards and six scores.

Beyond the individual big-play potential that each player packs, the flexibility that Liam Coen has to move both players around the formation and attack different levels of the field can be a real added stressor for opposing defenses.

“He has a great feel for the game itself,” said Liam Coen after the NFL draft. “When he’s on the offensive side of the ball, finding zones in the defense. He’s got really good ball skills. He can do something with it after the catch.”

On defense, Clay projects that Hunter plays 322 defensive snaps and records 25 tackles and 0.6 interceptions.

Also a receiver, Hunter brings terrific ball skills to the cornerback position. On just 41 targets during his 2024 season at Colorado, Hunter still came away with four interceptions and seven pass breakups.

Hunter could potentially see the bulk of his playing time on defense come during obvious passing situations where those ball skills of his can be on display and maximized.

“Then on the defensive side of the ball, he finds it, and that’s ultimately what we’re trying to do here is continue to find people that can help us get our hands on the ball on the defensive side and go impact the game in that way,” Coen added.
