Josh Allen has a lot to be excited about as the NFL season nears its end — including his growing family.
While speaking with the Associated Press on Wednesday, Dec. 17, the Buffalo Bills quarterback, 29, reflected on the honors he’s received since arriving in New York after playing college football in Wyoming, including being named the 2024 NFL MVP.
“I was just trying to figure out protections and how to throw the ball correctly,” Allen told the outlet, reflecting on how his expectations have shifted since his rookie season in 2018. “We’ve come a long way.”
“I guess it’s like the evolution of life,” he added, looking back on how the Bills (and Buffalo) have changed as a team since he arrived. “I consider this place my home. It’s where I’ve done a lot of growing up. And it’s a place that I’ll raise a family. It’s really cool.”
Allen also spoke about the recent pregnancy announcement video that featured him and wife Hailee Steinfeld, also 29, as she posed in the snow, showing off her baby bump.
“It just kind of came about,” he said of the sweet video, adding that he was “overjoyed, absolutely overjoyed” about the pregnancy.

Steinfeld announced her pregnancy news in her Substack newsletter, sharing a round-up of her 29 favorite moments from the past year in honor of her 29th birthday. At the end of her list, Steinfeld included the video that announced her pregnancy. At the end of the clip, the camera panned out to reveal the two holding hands in front of a tiny snowman.
Shortly after their newsletter announcement, the couple shared a joint Instagram post with the same video. “I love you ❤️,” Allen commented on the clip.
The Hawkeye actress and quarterback were first linked in May 2023 and got engaged on Nov. 22, 2024. They tied the knot in Santa Barbara, Calif., on May 31.

Although Steinfeld seemingly wasn’t in attendance, Allen shared that her impact on his life played a role in the dramatic win.
“I love my wife, she’s my favorite teammate,” he said after the game when he was asked about whether the baby news — and that of Bills’ tight end Dalton Knox also becoming a father last week — was extra motivation.
The breaking baby news was also not exactly that for the signal-caller.
“I’ve known for a long time, so it’s not that crazy to me,” Allen told the media, following the 35-31 win. “You know it’s a really cool, special moment in my life and my wife’s.”
