The New York Giants continued bolstering their tight end depth on Thursday, signing four-year veteran Tanner Conner to the practice squad after he was released by the Miami Dolphins earlier this week.
Conner, 27, is a 6-foot-3, 237-pound target who spent his entire career in Miami. Over four seasons, he appeared in 33 games (one start), posting 12 career receptions. This year marked his most productive campaign yet, with nine catches for 91 yards across nine contests before his release.

The move marks the third tight end addition to Big Blue’s practice squad in recent weeks, joining Zach Davidson and Maximilian Mang. On the active roster, the Giants carry Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, and veteran Chris Manhertz.
With injuries and performance questions lingering at the position, general manager Joe Schoen is clearly prioritizing depth heading into the final stretch of the season. Conner brings reliable hands and special teams experience to a unit looking for reinforcements.
With Conner’s signing, the Giants’ practice squad is back up to 17 players (one on an international roster exemption).
