The Indianapolis Colts are at home in Week 16 for a Monday Night matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

So who do the NFL experts have winning this game?

Perhaps not technically a must-win for the Colts, but this game is very close to that. At 8-6 on the year — and having lost four in a row — the Colts currently find themselves on the outside looking in at the AFC playoff picture.

Shane Steichen has already confirmed that — as expected — Phillip Rivers will get the start at quarterback this week. Although Rivers provided some steadiness at the position, there is one particular area where this unit has to improve with him under center as well.

To see how the Colts and 49ers stack up and who has the advantage in key areas, you can find that here.

Pro Football Talk

Mike Florio is picking the 49ers to win by a touchdown, while Chris Simms is taking San Francisco by 15.

“The Colts have found a way to complete their collapse in style,” Florio wrote.

A clean sweep — and not in favor of the Colts. All five NFL.com predictors are picking the 49ers. Here is why Ali Bhanpuri likes San Francisco:

“The 49ers have dominated time of possession during their four-game win streak, sustaining long scoring drives on the back of a league-best 60 percent third-down conversion rate — 7 points higher than the second-placed Packers. I see that success continuing on Monday night, and I fear this version of the Colts offense won’t be able to keep up.”

CBS Sports

Pete Prisco is picking the 49ers to win by a score of 27-23.

“This will be the second start for Philip Rivers for the Colts after he almost won at Seattle last week,” wrote Prisco. “The 49ers are 10-4 and pushing for a playoff spot. They blew out Tennessee last week, but the defense wasn’t great. It won’t matter as the 49ers will limit Rivers and Brock Purdy will play well. The 49ers keep on winning.”

ESPN

All three members of ESPN are picking the 49ers as well. ESPN’s Football Power Index simulation model has the 49ers winning this game 61.2% of the time and doing so by an average of 4.3 points.
