The NFL released its 2025 season schedule on Wednesday. The Seattle Seahawks learned their schedule in a coordinated league-wide release. Head coach Mike Macdonald and staff can now begin preparations for the entertaining campaign ahead.

Part of analyzing the schedule release is identifying opportunities that could define your season. In 2024 for example, the Seahawks had their first two division games in Weeks 6 and 9. Macdonald’s squad dropped both of those home contests against the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. They’d recover after the bye, winning three straight divisional showdowns, but they ultimately finished 10-7 and barely missed the playoffs.

Looking at the 2025 schedule, the Seahawks have a similar stretch that could be decisive. It occurs much later in the season however. Assuming the Seahawks stay within striking distance of the NFC West division title, the Week 16 and 18 showdowns with the San Francisco and Los Angeles Rams could determine the division.

Of course in both cases, they represent the second and final meetings with the Rams and 49ers. The Week 16 contest versus the Rams occurs at Lumen Field, where the Seahawks must protect home advantage. The Week 18 meeting against the 49ers is at Levi’s Stadium, where the Seahawks exercised a long-lasting demon in 2024, winning 20-17 after a Geno Smith game-winning rushing score.

Sandwiched in between the Rams and 49ers in Weeks 16 and 18 is a winnable Week 17 road date with the Carolina Panthers. If the Seahawks defeat the Rams and Panthers, they could head into their regular-season finale at San Francisco with some momentum. How the Seahawks handle their late-season stretch could ultimately determine their postseason fate.
