Pittsburgh Steelers OLB T.J. Watt is the Steelers’ team facility on Thursday, with the team Twitter account posting a picture of Watt in attendance for a performance by the Pittsburgh Symphony.

In the picture, Watt is sitting between fellow outside linebacker Alex Highsmith and defensive captain Cam Heyward, with QB Aaron Rodgers to the right of Heyward.

Watt underwent surgery last week for a partially collapsed lung sustained during a dry-needling session at the team facility on Wednesday. Mike Tomlin gave brief update on Watt’s status on Tuesday, admitting he wasn’t sure if Watt had returned to the team facility, and he was listed as a DNP for Wednesday’s practice.

It’s good to see Watt returning to the team after a scary incident and injury, and he seems to be in good spirits in the picture posted by the team. His health comes first and foremost, and it’s a good sign that he was able to be around the team today after resting to recover from his surgery over the last week.

Yesterday, T.J.’s brother, J.J. Watt, gave an update on his status during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“He is working through it. He is working through it,” J.J. Watt said. “It’s obviously not somewhere that he expected or would like to be. But just handling the situation day by day and making sure to find the appropriate and proper steps to get back to where he would like to be.”

While Watt might not be available for the Steelers’ matchup against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, being back in the building and surrounded by his teammates and coaches is a good step in the rehab process. We’ll see when the team releases its injury report later today if Watt was able to practice, but it’s a positive regardless that he’s back with the team.
