NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – It’s been an emotional week for Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.
The superstar’s Tennessee home was broken into while he was in San Francisco facing the 49ers on Sunday.
Simmons told the media his mom normally watches his away games at his house; however, Sunday was an exception.
It’s something he isn’t taking lightly:
“It could have happened to anybody, man. The only thing I think about, man, was my mom at the house. We know they had guns and weapons, so… That’s the only thing I think about, man.
So, when we talk about, like, the community work, that’s the reason why I say I don’t do it for the publicity and the Walter Payton Man of the Year. You do it to try to impact somebody’s life.”
Multiple items were stolen during the burglary. The team’s security team is working with the Metro Nashville Police Department to track down the suspects.
