This marks the first elevation for the rookie free agent out of Oregon, paving the way for Johnson to make his NFL debut on the same night that his alma mater is playing in the College Football Playoff.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Johnson battled for a roster spot with the Eagles over the summer, competing primarily as a nickel defender. After playing for three seasons at Duke, where he earned his degree in sociology, Johnson transferred in 2024 to Oregon, where he racked up 45 tackles, six passes defensed, and an interception for the Ducks, who won the Big Ten Championship in the school’s first season in the conference.
