The Cincinnati Bengals have activated defensive end Shemar Stewart to the 53-man roster from the injured reserve list. In addition, the team placed defensive tackle Kris Jenkins Jr. on the injured reserve list, ending his season.
Stewart, who was placed on the injured reserve list on Nov. 15 with a knee injury, was designated for return from that list and returned to practice on December 10. The first-round pick will now get the opportunity to end his rookie season on a high note after failing to make much of any impact to this point.
In 177 defensive snaps logged, Stewart has a PFF grade of 36.9 with eight QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks. He also has just two stops vs. two missed tackles.
Jenkins, a second-year player, suffered an ankle injury in Cincinnati’s Week 15 game at Baltimore. He finishes his second NFL season with a 53.3 PFF grade.
