The Dallas Cowboys (6-7-1) are heading into Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers (10-4) on a two-game losing streak, and with just a 0.6% chance of making the playoffs, according to ESPN.
While having any chance is still positive, team owner Jerry Jones is not pleased with what he has seen from the team this year. However, when tasked with identifying what went wrong for America’s team, Jones shouldered the blame.

During a Friday appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jones admitted he is at fault for the team’s struggles, which is certainly a shocking sign of accountability from an owner who doesn’t mind ruffling some feathers.
“There’s no question,” Jones said via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “There’s no manning-up or anything. I know exactly who is ultimately responsible. I’ve always had that because I’ve always had the responsibility.
“I take it real serious, and more importantly, there is accountability in a very, very big way. I’ve got to live with when we’re out of money and we want to sign a player and we don’t have any money left under the (salary) cap. I have to live with that.”

Despite the Chargers having the better record, the oddsmakers at DraftKings give the Cowboys the slight edge on Sunday. Dallas enters Sunday’s bout as 2.5-point favorites. However, ESPN’s Analytics give the Cowboys a 48.9% chance to win the match, slightly lower than Los Angeles with 50.7%.
If Dallas can scrape out a victory against the Chargers, it’s not a guarantee they’d make the playoffs, but they certainly have a path. The Cowboys will finish the year against the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants, who have a combined record of 6-22.

Sunday’s game kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET and airs on Fox.
