The Tennessee Titans (2-12) will take on the Kansas City Chiefs (6-8) this Sunday afternoon at Nissan Stadium in their 15th game of the 2025 regular season.
Opening the week, the Titans were listed as 3.5-point home underdogs, but that spread has softened slightly with Kansas City now at -3 as of this writing.
How does the Titans Wire staff see this Week 16 battle shaking out? Here’s a look at our picks and score predictions.
Mark Mihalko: Chiefs 20, Titans 13
The game may have lost some luster with the absence of Patrick Mahomes, but it won’t lose its intensity. The Titans and Chiefs battle until the bitter end, with Gardner Minshew leading the Chiefs down the field for a Travis Kelce touchdown late to seal the victory. The Titans play hard, but their lack of depth in the secondary comes back to haunt them once again.
Serena Burks: Titans 24, Chiefs 21
This game has intrigue with Patrick Mahomes landing on injured reserve and Gardner Minshew getting his first start with the Chiefs. Without Mahomes, the Chiefs are a different team on a fundamental level, and we haven’t yet seen how they will function with Minshew on the field for an extended period. He is a veteran who is capable of making plays, but this is his first season with the Chiefs, and he’s only attempted five passes, one of which was an interception. The Titans, on the other hand, have begun to look like a team that works as a unit. They still lack talent in some areas, but they’ve managed to put together solid drives against tough teams, even in losses. It’s hard to bet against the Chiefs, but the Titans have a huge opportunity here, and I think they take advantage of it at home.
Dan Benton: Chiefs 23, Titans 16
This game could be close throughout, and I even see an opportunity for the Titans to pull off an upset, but you have to factor in Minshew magic. Above all else, you also have to factor in Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo going against a rookie quarterback — a clear mismatch that favors Kansas City. Even without Mahomes under center, the Chiefs win a tight one on the road.
Bryan Manning: Chiefs 17, Titans 13
With no Patrick Mahomes, the Titans have a chance to beat the Chiefs on Sunday. Even without Mahomes, it would be a signature win for this Tennessee team. So, expect a much closer game, but it’s just hard to see the Titans doing a whole lot against the Chiefs’ defense.
Tyler Henry: Titans 24, Chiefs 21
The Chiefs find themselves in unfamiliar territory, being eliminated from playoff contention. That feels weird in itself, but with Patrick Mahomes out, I think the Chiefs are going to look very deflated on Sunday, and somehow Tennessee will come away with the win.
Joel Titus: Chiefs 24, Titans 21
The Chiefs have nothing to play for but draft position now, as Mahomes went down with an injury. However, I think this leads to a more structured offense from Kansas City. Minshew is good enough to connect on passing opportunities, and there will be plenty against this leaky Titans secondary. I think the Titans’ star of the show will be this offensive line yet again, which is finally starting to gel, especially after these previous two games. However, I think this Secondary is just too leaky to win this one.
