The San Francisco 49ers‘ Friday practice report featured a lot of good news and reasons for optimism on the health front as they gear up to visit the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall’s status was not among the positive updates from the second practice of the week.
Pearsall was listed as a non-participant for the second day in a row while dealing with an ankle injury he suffered in Week 15. He also aggravated the knee injury he originally sustained in Week 4 that kept him out for six games. Head coach Kyle Shanahan on Wednesday sounded optimistic about Pearsall’s chances to suit up Monday night, but ideally the second-year receiver would’ve been upgraded to a least a limited session Friday.
San Francisco could still have Pearsall in Monday’s game if he doesn’t participate in practice at all during the week. With the Monday game, the 49ers practice schedule is pushed back a week so the injury report for the week will be released Saturday.
In some bits of good news, no injured players who were limited Thursday suffered setbacks. Offensive lineman Spencer Burford and defensive tackle Jordan Elliott were also upgraded to limited participation after not practicing the previous day.
