INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts will again be without both its starting cornerbacks, as All-Pro Sauce Gardner will miss his third-straight game with a calf injury for Monday Night Football against the 49ers, Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen told reporters Saturday. Gardner suffered the calf injury two plays into the team’s last home game Nov. 30 against the Texans, but the team opted not to put the cornerback on IR, with the belief – or at least hope – Gardner would miss fewer than four games with his injury.

Through Friday’s practice injury report, he’s yet to practice since suffering the injury. Fellow starting cornerback Charvarius Ward was put on IR days after suffering a third concussion of the year in the team’s Dec. 7 game against the Jaguars.

When asked Saturday if he expected Gardner to play again this season, Steichen said, definitively, “Yes.”
