The New Orleans Saints (4-10) seek their third consecutive win of the season Sunday when they host the New York Jets (3-11) at Caesars Superdome. Here are the predictions from our staff for the Saints’ final home game of the season.
Jeff Duncan (Season record: 7-7)
Saints 21, Jets 13: I get the feeling this game might be closer than we expect, especially if the Saints start slowly again. But the Saints have a decided edge in two key areas: quarterback and defense. The might the game Quincy Riley finally gets his first NFL pick six.
Zach Ewing (Season record: 8-6)
Saints 27, Jets 9: Teams not used to being expected to win sometimes stumble in this situation, and the Saints are favored by 6 points, the most for the franchise since Dennis Allen’s final game last year in Carolina. New Orleans hasn’t covered this large a spread since December 2023. Still, this feels like a blowout. The Saints are surging, and the Jets aren’t even putting their best players on the field.
Luke Johnson (Season record: 9-5)
Saints 27, Jets 17: A few weeks ago, this game felt like it would be a toss up. Since, Tyler Shough has the Saints feeling hopeful about the future, while the Jets are simply hoping the future gets here faster. New York has the look and feel of a team that has already waived the right flag.
Matthew Paras (Season record: 7-7)
Saints 27, Jets 10: The Jets may play better defensively than they have of late after firing defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. But they have a lot of injuries, not to mention they traded away their two best defensive players at the deadline. The Saints have been playing well, so give me the Saints.
Rod Walker (Season record: 9-5)
Saints 24, Jets 10: It’s been a while since I’ve felt this sure about a Saints win. The momentum they’ve built over the past two weeks will carry over into this one. The defense dominates, and Tyler Shough continues to prove he’s the future, capping off the Saints’ last game in the Dome this season with a W.
