Earlier this week, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix discussed the challenge that comes with facing the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense.

“They’re a really good football team,” Nix said. “They’re very multiple, they do a lot of different things. They do a great job tackling, getting the ball carriers to the ground, they force a lot of turnovers and they’re just a really good defense.”

Along with quarterback Trevor Lawrence playing at a high level, the Jaguars‘ defense has done the same for much of the second half of the season.

The pass rush has improved since the Houston game, which in part, is a product of the sticky coverage on the back end.

Jacksonville also continues to force takeaways, generating eight in the last three games, along with several fourth-down stops as well.

“They have several good football players on their team, and I think they’re doing a really good job with their scheme with their new coaches,” NIx added.

Beyond the Jaguars’ defenders executing the play calls, as Nix mentions, Anthony Campanile’s defensive scheme does a very good job of mixing up looks, which can put a lot on the plate of a quarterback post-snap.

The Jaguars will enter this game ranked 10th in points per game allowed, seventh in yards per rush, and seventh in yards per pass attempt.

One of the challenges that Nix will provide the Jaguars is his ability to avoid sacks and extend plays.

The Denver offense this season is 12th in points per game.

If the Jaguars want to remain in the mix for the AFC’s top seed, this game is a must-win.
