GLENDALE – With players out and some on the fence for Week 16, the Arizona Cardinals elevated two players from the practice squad ahead of their home finale vs. the Atlanta Falcons. Arizona will have two cornerbacks out, Darren Hall and Max Melton, while two wide receivers are questionable for Sunday, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Xavier Weaver. In response to that news, the Cardinals will have wide receiver Steven Sims and cornerback Jaden Davis joining the team.

Davis and Sims career up to Sunday:
Sims is a six-year veteran that last played for the Baltimore Ravens, and even made a appearance in the Divisional round of last year’s playoffs. The 28-year-old went undrafted out of Kansas and has his career on four different teams. He started with the Commanders in 2019 and 2020, finishing his tenure with 61 catches for 575 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Outside of Washington, Sims hasn’t gotten much reps on any of his next few teams. Sims signed with the Cardinals earlier in December, and after three weeks will make his debut for the team.

Davis is a different story. The 24-year-old was drafted in the seventh round of the 2024 draft and has spent the past two seasons fighting for reps in preseason and training camps. During his two-year journey, Davis has been assigned to the practice squad and released from the team threes separate times. Week 16 will only be the second times Davis has been activated to active roster. Despite never appearing in an NFL game, he knows the system and could be ready to get his number call on Sunday.
