The Detroit Lions will host the Green Bay Packers in their traditional Thanksgiving Day spot to start off the afternoon’s slate of games, with the contest set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.

The Lions look to continue their string of recent success in 2025 after taking the NFC North division crown each of the last two years and advancing as far as the conference championship in 2023. But after failing to reach their goal of a Super Bowl and starting this fall with new faces at both coordinator positions, there’s still a lot to prove in the Motor City.

Meanwhile, the Packers are also coming off two consecutive postseason appearances but have not won the NFC North crown since the 2021 season when Aaron Rodgers was still in town. Quarterback Jordan Love enters his third season as QB1 in Green Bay, and the team’s young — and highly-paid — signal-caller could bolster his resume in green and gold with another win over a rival.

The Lions swept the season series in 2024, but the Packers took the win in the teams’ last Thanksgiving Day head-to-head two seasons ago. In what is expected to be a competitive NFC North once again in 2025, this holiday matchup pits rivals against each other on the national stage.
