The Minnesota Vikings (6-8) and the New York Giants (2-12) meet Sunday in Week 16 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Vikings vs. Giants odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
Minnesota stayed hot in Week 15, knocking off a second straight NFC East opponent with a 34-26 road win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Vikings covered as 5-point underdogs and the Over (47) cashed. Despite being outgained 423-327 and managing just 77 rushing yards, QB J.J. McCarthy threw for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns, both to WR Josh Nailor.
The Giants saw their losing streak reach 8 games in Week 15 with a 29-21 home loss to the Washington Commanders. New York failed to cover as 3-point favorites as the Over (45) cashed. RB Tyrone Tracy totaled 97 yards and scored twice, while QB Jaxson Dart threw for 246 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception, adding 63 rushing yards.

PASS.
Two of the hottest teams in the league — I’ve got Denver (-185) handling its business at home, but not at these odds. I’ll take my wager to the spread.
BET VIKINGS -2.5 (-118).
The Vikings are clearly trending the right way, while the Giants look like a team just trying to get to the finish line. Minnesota has won 3 of its last 5, and the offense has finally found some rhythm behind McCarthy. Over the past 2 weeks, he’s shown confidence, efficiency and aggressiveness, tossing 5 touchdowns with only 1 interception while adding value with his legs.
This matchup sets up well for him again. New York’s defense has been a problem all season, and during its 8-game losing streak, no opponent has scored fewer than 24 points. That’s not the profile of a unit I want to trust against an offense that’s gaining momentum. Even if Minnesota doesn’t suddenly become a dominant rushing team, the Giants have struggled to stop anyone on the ground, which should help keep the Vikings on schedule and out of obvious passing downs.
On the other side, the Giants continue to fight, but the losses are piling up. Dart has shown flashes, yet asking a rookie quarterback to keep pace against a Minnesota defense coached by Brian Flores is a tough assignment. If New York falls behind, that pressure only increases.
Minnesota has more balance, more stability and far more to play for. I’ll take the Vikings to control this game and cover the number at MetLife.
BET OVER 43.5 (-110).
New York isn’t elite offensively, but it still averages 21.4 points and should find chances against a Vikings defense that’s been leaky versus the run. Minnesota averages 20.6 points per game and throws it nearly 60% of the time, which lines up well against a Giants defense allowing 28.3 points per game and struggling to pressure quarterbacks. The Giants have seen the Over hit in 8 of their last 9 games, and that trend is hard to ignore. With the Vikings leaning on the pass and the Giants routinely playing high-scoring games, I’m expecting enough big plays to push this total past the number.
