Former Oregon State wide receiver Jailen Holmes has a new home in a familiar state.
Holmes, who entered the transfer portal in April following spring practices, announced his commitment to University of Alabama-Birmingham on Sunday.
Holmes — originally from Madison, Alabama — played one season for Oregon State in 2024, earning a redshirt after appearing in just one game against Air Force.
He previously played two seasons at Independence Community College in Kansas, and heads to UAB with a total of three years of eligibility remaining.
In his final year at Independence, his most recent regular run of play, Holmes caught 13 passes for 164 yards across nine games.
Holmes was originally a zero-star junior college recruit according to 247Sports’ rankings, but will seek to outperform that designation with the Blazers this fall. He will be playing a little over 90 miles south of where he grew up.
