Three Keys

1) Keep doing what you’re doing on offense – Over the past two weeks, the Vikings have averaged 32.5 points per game on offense and have only turned the ball over once. The Giants’ defense should present another opportunity to move the ball and score points, so Kevin O’Connell and company need to call the same sort of game that we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks to allow J.J. McCarthy and company to keep pushing and keep the Giants off-balance defensively.

2) Get pressure on Jaxson Dart – The Giants’ young quarterback has been solid in his rookie season, but he’s going to have some issues dealing with Brian Flores’ defense. I’m sure that the defense is going to be coming at him from all angles, so it will be important to keep him contained and not let him make plays with his feet. If the Vikings can get out to an early lead, it will hopefully be a long afternoon for the home team and their young signal caller.

3) Next man up – The Vikings are coming into this one without several important pieces, notably Jonathan Greenard, Josh Metellus, and Christian Darrisaw. That just means that, with three games left in the season, some younger players who may not have gotten opportunities otherwise are going to get chances to step up and impress the coaching staff and front office before decisions will need to be made this offseason. Who will meet the challenge?

As always, we will start a brand new Open Thread at the beginning of each quarter, so keep your eyes open for those and be sure to move the discussion along accordingly.

Here’s hoping that in about three hours or so we can get together and talk about this team’s third consecutive win and the opportunity to get back to .500. . .and, hopefully, end the Detroit Lions’ season. . .in a few days for Christmas.

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
