A former Michigan State running back is heading to the NFL Draft.

Former Spartans running back Jordon Simmons announced earlier this week that he’s entering his name into the NFL Draft. Simmons made the news known by posting on his social media X account on Friday.

Simmons started his college career at Michigan State under former head coach Mel Tucker in 2020. He played four years for the Spartans, appearing in 34 games and recording 520 rushing yards.

After the 2023 season, Simmons hit the transfer portal and landed at Akron. In one year with the Zips, he 847 yards from scrimmage (664 rushing yards and 183 receiving yards) and two touchdowns. After one season with Akron, Simmons entered the transfer portal again and landed at Georgia State this past year for his final season. He recorded 735 yards from scrimmage (543 rushing yards and 192 receiving yards) and three touchdowns with the Panthers this year.
