Broncos vs. Jaguars: The matchup
The Broncos have been the NFL’s hottest team over the past two-plus months and enters Week 16 on a run of nine straight victories after starting the season with a 1-2 mark through three games. Denver plays behind a defense that ranks third in the NFL in scoring (18.6 ppg), fourth total yardage (287.7 ypg), second against the run (90.9 ypg) and first in sacks (58), while quarterback Bo Nix guides an offense that continues to find ways to win close-and-late games, including last week with three touchdowns in 17 minutes in the third and fourth quarters to take a 34-26 win over the Green Bay Packers.
The Jaguars are finding their stride offensively in the franchise’s first season under coach Liam Coen, averaging 34 points per game over their current five-game win streak. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is on his way to career-bests in yardage and touchdowns while also taking his game to another level in recent weeks with nine touchdowns against zero interceptions in wins over the Titans (25-3), Colts (36-19) and Jets (48-20).
