Andy Reid isn’t going anywhere.
The Chiefs’ head coach appears to be returning to the sideline next season, according to NFL Network.
Several sources told the outlet that Reid would be back despite speculation that he may hang up his headset with a distinguished coaching career already under his belt, which has included three Super Bowl titles in Kansas City.

The Chiefs are in the midst of a season in which they will not make the playoffs for the first time since 2014, but that doesn’t seem to have made Reid want to step down.
“Coach Reid ain’t going out like this,” one person told NFL Network.
“He’ll be back,” another person indicated.
Reid had not given any indication that he was looking to step away after the season came to a close, but he will have a full offseason to prepare for the 2026 season with the Chiefs out of postseason contention.
And there will be plenty of questions surrounding the Chiefs as they try to bounce back from a tough 2025, which includes the health of star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who underwent surgery to fix a torn ACL and LCL.
It’s unclear what shape Mahomes will return in after his rehab, but Reid had been optimistic that Mahomes would rehab with the same mindset “he does with everything else.”
“There have been some pretty good quarterbacks who have had the same injury, and they’ve done pretty well after they came back. He’ll get after it, and he’s got good people here to rehab him. He’ll be right on top of all of that,” Redi told reporters.
“As long as the surgery goes well, as expected, then I would expect a fairly quick recovery for him just because of those factors.”
There is also the question of whether Travis Kelce will retire after the 2025 season. He told reporters this past week he’d “rather keep the focus on this team, right now.”
One change that could be coming is the offensive coordinator the two work with.
NFL Network indicated that Matt Nagy had not signed a contract extension with the Chiefs last offseason and will become a free agent after the season.
