The Wake Forest Men’s Tennis team has capped off a historic season with a 4-2 win over #2 TCU to win the National Championship!
In the semifinal match, the Deacs took down #4 Stanford for the second time this season on Saturday night by a score of 4-2. Wake won the doubles point with Dostanic/Robertson and Pow/Tacchi getting wins to start the Deacs off with a 1-0 lead. Wake then picked up the remaining 3 points in singles play with wins from DK Suresh, Luciano Tacchi, and Luca Pow. The win set Wake Forest up with a rematch of the ITA Indoor National Championship against the TCU Horned Frogs.
In the championship match, Wake once again showed their dominance in doubles with Dostanic/Robertson winning 6-3 and Pow/Tacchi winning 6-2 to take the doubles point. Dostanic won his singles match quickly to put the Deacs up 2-0. The Horned Frogs got one back when Tacchi dropped his match to Albert Pedrico Kravtsov, but Luca Pow delivered with his 31st win of the season to give Wake a 3-1 lead and needing just 1 more win to secure the national championship.
With his 31st (yes, 31st) win of the season, Pow puts us ONE win away from a national championship!!

TCU picked up another victory, and it all came down to Charlie Robertson and DK Suresh fighting to see which Deac was going to secure the championship for Wake.

In the end, Suresh would win the race, beating TCU’s Pedro Vives to make Wake Forest national champions!
The win gave Wake their 2nd NCAA title in program history (2018) and the schools 11th team national title.
The 2024-25 Wake Forest Men’s Tennis team should go down as one of the best teams in NCAA history. The Deacs finished the season 40-1 overall and won both the ITA Indoor National Championship and the NCAA National Championship. This team simply dominated college tennis this year and won almost everything there was to win. Historic might be an understatement.
Congratulations to the champs!
Go Deacs!
