We don’t say that anymore

Denver Broncos fans grew tired of former quarterback Russell Wilson’s “Let’s Ride” catchphrase, so much so that he eventually stopped using it.
The “Let’s Ride” tag is a callback to a brutal era that saw the team go 13-21 with multiple heartbreaking blunders. So it’s no surprise that fans have had near-meltdowns when players like current quarterback Bo Nix and star cornerback Pat Surtain have stopped themselves after coming close to repeating the phrase.
Not everyone outside of Denver has received the memo, though.
When the Broncos signed Utah State wide receiver Kyrese White after a successful tryout at rookie minicamp, his college tweeted: “Broncos Country let’s ride!🤠”
Fans in Denver quickly alerted the school that the phrase is now out of fashion.
All love but please leave this phrase in 2022 🙏

I love my Aggies to death.
But as a Denver Broncos fan, “let’s ride” is basically hate speech lmao.

Meanwhile, the NFL still hasn’t stopped selling “Let’s Ride” merchandise, including t-shirts and hoodies. Perhaps some fans have been able to separate the catchiness of the phrase from the pain of the 2022-2023 era.
Maybe one day it will return to being an acceptable phrase in Broncos Country, but there’s clearly a need for more healing among fans before that can happen.
