The 49ers control their own destiny.
San Francisco (10-4), despite an onslaught of injuries this season, officially punched its ticket to the playoffs and still is in position to secure the NFC’s No. 1 playoff seed after the Seattle Seahawks’ thrilling win over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night.
However, they have plenty of work to do.
First, San Francisco must win its Week 16 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on “Monday Night Football” at Lucas Oil Stadium. And while the 49ers did not play on Sunday, the rest of the conference’s playoff picture continued to take shape.
Here’s where the NFC playoff picture stands following Sunday afternoon’s slate of games:
