There’s nothing you can count on more than the Falcons winning games that don’t matter late in the season after they are eliminated from playoff contention. It’s a tradition unlike any other. #riseup

The Atlanta Falcons have managed to stack wins for what seems like the first time in ages, defeating the Cardinals, 26-19, on the road in Week 16.

This is the second consecutive win Atlanta has put together after the Falcons defeated the Buccaneers, 29-28, in a thrilling road contest. Of course, it’s all for naught given that Atlanta has been eliminated from the postseason already, but it certainly is a morale boost for the coaching staff and the team itself.

One of the biggest storylines was the performance of the offense, which has put up a combined 55 points in just the past two contests. Against what some expected, veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins has looked almost precisely as he looked during his high point in Atlanta.

In this particular effort, Cousins was 21-for-35 passing for 197 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Running back Bijan Robinson reached new milestones, rushing for 76 yards and racking up 92 yards through the air.

Here’s a look at what social media had to say about it all:

Thanks for watching with us. At this point in the season, an enjoyable Sunday afternoon is about all we can reasonably expect, and the Falcons delivered

Raheem Morris keeps talking about “next year” and “long term”

He’s either completely delusional or Blank guaranteed him three years https://t.co/fkjfCBqxuu

Buddy, today’s win might just be the anchor baby that saves Raheem Morris’ job.

Oh boy.
