Cam Skattebo quickly won over Arizona State football fans with his work ethic and personality while playing for the Sun Devils.

It appears he is already doing the same thing with the New York Giants.

Skattebo, who participated in rookie minicamp over the weekend, turned heads with his comments and play on the practice field for the Giants, his first time in a Giants uniform since being picked with the No. 105 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft in April.

Skattebo always seems to have a chip on his shoulder, which helped him collect 2,316 yards from scrimmage and 24 touchdowns for ASU last season and could propel him to special things with the Giants.

Cam Skattebo: ‘I’ve proved nothing’ in NFL

That chip on Cam Skattebo’s shoulder is still there, according to comments the running back made at Giants rookie minicamp.

“How many snaps of the NFL have you seen me play? Zero, right? I’ve proved nothing,” Skattebo told reporters May 9. “I’ve proved what I am in college, but I’ve proved nothing at this level. So now, where I’m at, I have to prove myself, and if that’s for five years or if that’s for 10 years, I’m going to continue to prove myself.”

Cam Skattebo: ‘If people want to sleep, they can sleep’

The running back is known for fighting through tackles, but Skattebo said he can also make people miss tackles.

“This past year I didn’t do it a ton,” he told reporters. “I more so hit people or attacked their one shoulder, but I mean, if people want to sleep, they can sleep. I have no issue with that. It’s been something I’ve had to deal with my whole life, so I’m going to continue to do what I need to do to be successful and play as long as I can in this league.”

Skattebo isn’t going to shy away from contact in the NFL, however.

“It feels good when you run somebody over and then get in the end zone,” he told reporters. “I mean, it feels good when you get in the end zone, but imagine running someone over and then running another person over and then getting in the end zone. It’s that much better.”
