Three years, 30 wins.
That’s what DeMeco Ryans can say about his Houston Texans entering the 2026 season.
With the Denver Broncos falling short at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Texans now have the longest winning streak in the NFL following a 23-21 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Far from pretty, but enough to secure a victory and a 10th win for a Texans roster that was bound to have a trip-up outing.
A late 2-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud to Dalton Schultz was the difference between a six-game losing streak being snapped and another victory on the radar. Stroud, who struggled early in the afternoon on drives, finished 187 yards and a touchdown.
Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins had four receptions for 59 yards, including the game-sealing 23-yard grab with just over 1:30 remaining in the game.
The touchdown pass to Schultz was only called because of a pass interference on Lonnie Johnson on third down. Three play prior, Nick Chubb broke free for a big 30-yard game.
On the second drive of the afternoon, Derek Stingley Jr. made history with his first pick-six on a 30-yard strike. Outside of that, the Texans struggled to slow down rookie running back Ashton Jeanty on offense, who finished with two touchdowns, including a 60-yard reception in the third quarter.
A Heisman finalist, Jeanty became the second running back to rush for over 100 yards (128) on 24 carries. As a unit, Las Vegas finished with 315 yards and three touchdowns, including a red zone touchdown in the second quarter to Brock Bowers.
Three field goals from Ka’imi Fairbairn made the difference. Two kicks from 55 yards out gave six points to Houston will failing to reach the red zone. Overall, Houston was outgained 133 yards to 127Â in the second half and 315 to 260.
Up next, the Texans will be on a short week as they travel out west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday at 3 p.m.
