Notre Dame football made a late addition to its 2026 class last week, which should put a bowl on the group.
It gives the coaching staff a head start on the 2027 class, which they’ve done a great job already with having eight commitments and ranking as the nation’s No. 4 class in the 247Sports Team Composite.

There were more than a few happenings this weekend with the Irish and the 2027 class. So here is a quick recap of the Irish’s recruiting action.
(Note: All rankings are according to the 247Sports Composite.)
Offer out to 2027 RB CaDarius McMiller
Notre Dame offered McMiller on Saturday while the College Football Playoff was in action, meaning they weren’t necessarily watching. He’s got great size at 6-foot, 1-inch and 185-pounds and is ranked as the No. 251 overall prospect in the country. The Texas back will be a tough pull, but the Irish have tons of ammo with Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price most likely going early in the NFL draft.

Elite OT Layton von Brandt has Notre Dame in his top-8
The Delaware tackle has great size at 6-foot, 6-inches and 270-pounds and is elite. He’s von Brandt is the No. 38 overall prospect nationally, and would be a huge recruiting win. Previously committed to Penn State, when James Franklin was fired, he opened up the process again. His new team is the running, so you can’t could out the Hokies.
Wisconsin 4-star TE Korz Loken sets commitment date
The time is coming to find out if Notre Dame will be adding the nation’s No. 8 tight end to its 2027 recruiting class. Loken has more of a pass-catching build at the moment, at 6-foot, 5-inches and 220-pounds, and could be a huge threat in the passing game. Loken will be making his decision at the Navy All-American Bowl, with other top high school players participating.
