SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The Notre Dame football team announced Monday a two-game series with BYU for 2026 and 2027.
Next year’s game will be played in Provo while 2027’s matchup will be played in South Bend. Specific dates have not been announced yet.
The addition of BYU to next year’s schedule officially solidifies that Notre Dame and USC will not meet each other on the gridiron in 2026. According to a new Yahoo Sports report, the historic rivalry series is going on hiatus, with administrators working toward restarting the series as soon as 2030.
Notre Dame leads the all-time series against BYU 7-2. Most recently, the Irish defeated the Cougars 28-20 in the 2022 Shamrock Series game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
