The Eagles will have right guard Tyler Steen when they play the Bills on the road Sunday in Week 17.
There will be no suspensions handed out from the fight between the Eagles and Commanders in the fourth quarter on Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. While Steen will obviously be fined for his role in the fracas, he will not have to miss a game and give up a game check.
The fight between the Eagles and Commanders came with just over 4 minutes remaining in the Eagles’ 29-18 win. It broke out after the Eagles’ successful two-point conversion attempt, which put them up 29-10.
The incident began with some pushing and shoving before Steen found himself in the middle of a bunch of burgundy jerseys throwing punches. Steen was tossed from the game along with two Washington players: Javon Kinlaw and Quan Martin, who were also involved.
“It’s chippy out there,” said running back Saquon Barkley, who was also involved in some pushing. “We have a lot of history with this team, especially since I’ve been here and have it in the past. This team don’t like us. That’s just the truth. We don’t like them either. But we gotta keep it football.”
Steen was ejected and was not available to speak to reporters after the game. He had already left the locker room by the time it was open to reporters.
Steen, 25, has started all 15 games this season for the Eagles at right guard. He replaced Mekhi Becton, who left to join the Chargers in free agency. This is Steen’s third season in the NFL. The Eagles drafted him in the third round out of Alabama in 2023.
The Eagles will face the Commanders at home in Week 18 to wrap up their regular season.
“It’s a division game,” head coach Nick Sirianni said. “It’s always back-and-forth in a division game. That’s a team we played in the NFC Championship Game last year. I know how badly they wanted to beat us, I know how badly we wanted to beat them. We always gotta keep our cool in moments like that. But I think that’s NFC East football. It’s back-and-forth. They’ve got tough guys, we’ve got tough guys. I’ve got a lot of respect for this football team and their coaches.”
