TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Two Alabama players left the Crimson Tide’s first-round playoff win over Oklahoma with injuries and spent time in the sideline medical tent in Norman on Friday night.

Defensive tackle Tim Keenan and Husky defensive back Red Morgan both needed help off the field at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. On Monday, as head coach Kalen DeBoer previewed the Rose Bowl quarterfinal matchup, he provided updates on both starters.

“I know Tim was a little bit sore after the game, but I’m expecting that he’ll be good to go,” DeBoer said. “Maybe still working through here early in the week, but we’ve got some time. So, expecting him to be good to go.

“… Really kind of the same as TK. I would expect (Morgan) to be ready to go. But the last couple days and today, he’s still a little bit sore.”

Keenan has played in and started 11 games this season after missing the first three due to a preseason injury. The fifth-year senior has recorded 14 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks this season, while also forcing a fumble and blocking a punt against Oklahoma.

Morgan has played in all 14 games, but he has started four of the last five contests. In Year 2 with the Crimson Tide, Morgan has recorded 24 tackles, three tackles for loss and forced one fumble. Alabama coordinator Kane Wommack called him the best striker on the team.

DeBoer also provided an update on defensive end LT Overton, who has missed the last two games with an undisclosed illness. Overton started the first 12 games of the year before being ruled out for the SEC Championship Game. He is second on the team in sacks (4).

“LT, just continue to monitor him,” DeBoer said. “Definitely not ruling him out right now, but we’ll continue to evaluate him and see how things go here in the days ahead.”

Alabama will face 1-seed Indiana in the Rose Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 1, at 3 p.m. CT (ESPN).
