JACKSONVILLE – The camaraderie is as real as the winning.
The Jaguars are 11-4 with the NFL’s second-longest active winning streak – and as Head Coach Liam Coen and players see it, there’s plenty of cool off-field stuff going into the impressive on-field stuff.
These guys like each other – and with that, has come success.
“It’s been a fun group to be around so far,” Coen said.
Coen spoke Monday, a day after a 34-20 road victory over the Denver Broncos moved the Jaguars to within a game of the AFC’s top seed – and as much as standings, Monday’s Jaguars conversation focused on the closeness around a team with the NFL’s second-longest winning streak.
“We are ourselves in the building and we don’t really care about outside the building,” Jaguars linebacker Foyesade Oluokun said. “Obviously there are cameras showing that stuff for outside, the media and all that stuff, but we took it upon ourselves earlier in the year to just look inward and be part of this little brotherhood, this little community that we’re forming inside this building.
“Everybody’s really coming together tighter. Everybody’s allowed to just be themselves and be happy after these wins. And we know what it takes to really come out on top.”
The Jaguars with Sunday’s victory remained a game ahead of the Houston Texans (12-5) in the AFC South and can clinch the division with a victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis Sunday and a Texans loss to the Los Angeles Chargers (11-4) Saturday.
