Jeremy Cluff writes: “This game looked like it could have playoff implications before the season, but much to the dismay of Netflix, it is just an NFC East showdown, with Jayden Daniels out for the home team. Dallas beat Washington earlier this season in Dallas, 44-22. We expect a closer game this time around.”
Bookies.com: Bet the under in Commanders vs Cowboys game
Bill Speros writes: “Dr. Seuss had this one nailed. ‘Stink. Stank. Stunk.’ Netflix paid 500 billion-zillion-gazillion dollars to air its 2 Christmas Day games. But no one, not even the suits at Park Avenue, can guarantee a compelling matchup on Dec. 25 when the schedule comes out in May. Both teams are mathematically on to 2026. No one wants to be here on Christmas Day. Not Fans. Players. Media. The Netflix Crew. Not even Snoop Dogg’s halftime show gets your to hit the clicker here. The Commanders entered the season with the oldest roster in the NFL. And it showed as the season progressed. Expect a complete overhaul this offseason. Jerry Jones and the Cowboys mark 30 years without a Super Bowl victory- on January 28.”
The site’s formula predicts that the Cowboys will win the NFL Week 17 game against the Commanders.
ESPN: Cowboys have a 56.1% chance to beat Commanders on Christmas Day
The site gives the Commanders a 43.6% shot at winning the NFL Week 17 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.
Dimers: Cowboys 27, Commanders 25
It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Cowboys a win probability of 57%, while the Commanders have a win probability of 43%.”
Sportsnaut: Dallas Cowboys 28, Washington Commanders 27
Matt Johnson writes: “A Christmas Day matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders seemed like a dream for Netflix. Now, there is a chance that Josh Johnson is the Commanders’ starting quarterback in Week 17 with Jayden Daniels out and Marcus Mariota dealing with a hand injury. So, we get a matchup between an explosive Cowboys’ offense and a defense that has allowed a 110.0 passer rating, 247.8 passing yards per game, and 2.1 passing touchdowns per game. We cannot even get excited about the possibility of a shootout given that Johnson might be starting at quarterback for Washington.”
