Nebraska is set to experience large-scale changes to its roster with the college football transfer portal window lasting from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16, 2026. Although the window has not officially opened yet, players can declare their intentions to transfer before the window opens.
Here is a recap of the Huskers’ latest moves, departures and additions. The list will be updated as additional news breaks:
Monday, Dec. 22
Departure: Quarterback Marcos Davila
Marcos Davila will be with the Huskers for the Las Vegas Bowl. However, he will enter the portal on Jan. 2. Davila transferred to Nebraska from Purdue last offseason and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Â
With Davila departing, Nebraska will go into the portal with only TJ Lateef as its only scholarship quarterback.
Sunday, Dec. 21
Departure: Edge Maverick Noonan
Maverick Noonan announced Sunday night on social media that he will explore his options once the portal opens. However, he will still travel and be available for Nebraska’s matchup against No. 15 Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl.
The Omaha native is the son of former Husker All-American and 1987 first-round NFL Draft Pick Danny Noonan. Maverick will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Friday, Dec. 19
Departure: Defensive back Malcolm Hartzog
Malcolm Hartzog plans on entering the transfer portal, per sources. The senior played in two games this season, suffering a season-ending groin injury against Akron.
Hartzog won Nebraska’s season opener against Cincinnati with an interception in the final seconds. He recorded 108 tackles, 13 pass breakups and eight interceptions over his four years in Lincoln. He will have one year of eligibility remaining after redshirting this past season.
Monday, Dec. 15
Departure: Quarterback Dylan Raiola
Dylan Raiola announced on Monday, Dec. 15 his plans to enter the portal when it opens in January. Ever since the decommitment of his brother Dayton and the firing of his uncle and former offensive line coach Donovan Raiola, rumors have swirled about if Dylan would stay.Â
The former five-star recruit went 13-9 in his two seasons with the Huskers. In 2024, he set Nebraska’s single-season freshman passing record with 2,819 yards. Raiola finishes his Husker career with 4,819 passing yards for 31 touchdowns, while also tossing 17 interceptions.Â
Monday, Dec. 8
Departure: Running back Jamarion Parker
Jamarion Parker came in as a highly touted four-star 2025 running back recruit, but never played a down for Nebraska. The true freshman was sidelined with an injury all spring that carried through the entire regular season.
The St. Louis, Missouri, native will have four years of eligibility remaining.
Wednesday, Dec. 3
Departure: Defensive back Caden VerMaas
Although VerMaas isn’t a big name, he is officially the first Nebraska player to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal. The Millard North graduate was a three-star recruit and the No. 3 recruit in Nebraska in the class of 2024. He played in two games this season.
He will have four years of eligibility remaining.Â
Stay tuned for updates. This is a developing story.Â
