The New York Giants are suffering through one of — if not the worst — stretches of football in their 101-year existence. They are 11-38 since the beginning of the 2023 season, the worst record in the NFL over that span.

They’ve fired their head coach, Brian Daboll, and several other coaches, but then entrusted general manager Joe Schoen, the architect of this doomed endeavor, with finding a new head coach, and to pull them out of this abyss he’s led them into.

A roster shakeup is needed as well — again. After all, the coaches and the GM don’t play the game. The players do, and they have a lot to account for as well.

The final two games will feature many of those players who will be on the bubble, so to speak.

Here are five impending free agents who will be putting their best foot forward in hopes of sticking with the Giants past this season.

WR Wan’Dale Robinson

A fan favorite and a reliable player, Wan’Dale Robinson has done nothing for the Giants to sour on. He has become a top 10 NFL receiver and has totaled 81 catches and single-season career highs in receiving yards (901) and receiving touchdowns (four). Naturally, he’s done this as the Giants’ No. 1 in Malik Nabers’ absence.

It seems like a no-brainer that the Giants would bring Robinson back, but in light of some recent contracts signed around the league of players with similar credentials, he may be deemed too expensive to retain. Jacksonville just signed Jakobi Meyers to a three-year, $60 million deal last week. Robinson is comparable to Meyers in style, and his agent will likely be pointing to that deal in negotiations.

TE Daniel Bellinger

The Giants have been dealing with what seems to be a lot of drops in the passing game this year. Emerging tight end Theo Johnson has been guilty of that, and it has become noticeable. That leads us to wonder why Daniel Bellinger, who has very few holes in his game, is used mainly as a blocker.

He’ll show up and do his job the rest of the way here. Will the Giants give him more opportunities, is the question. If they choose not to keep him, it will be foolish. He’ll latch on with another team quickly if they don’t.

OL Jermaine Eluemunor

Jermaine Eluemunor has had a solid two years here with the Giants and has helped them get through the Evan Neal bust with little egg on their face. He has played well enough for Pro Bowl consideration. He’s just 31 and has maintained his health, so the Giants — if they haven’t already — should reach out to Eluemunor’s reps for an extension.

CB Cor’Dale Flott

Cor’Dale Flott, just 24, has had a breakout year of sorts. He entered the year batting former first-round pick Deonte Banks for the No. 2 corner spot, and no question who won that competition. Flott does miss time with nicks here and there, but is largely available and has an upside here with Big Blue. He should be retained and can seal that deal with a good showing over the final two games.

S Dane Belton

Dane Belton came into the league as a hybrid player who fit Wink Martindale’s scheme. He’s been trying to find his niche in the Giants’ Shane Bowen system and has been all over the place. That aside, Belton is a playmaker on both defense and special teams. Any new coaching staff can find a use for him. The Giants should seek to keep him in the fold.
