The South Florida high school football transfer portal is in full effect and another major transfer took place on Tuesday afternoon.
According to multiple social media posts on Instagram reposted and collaborated by 2027 four-star wide receiver Nick Lennear, the elite high school prospect is leaving Miami Northwestern and transferring to Miami Carol City.
Lennear, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings is the No. 5 ranked player in Florida and No. 25 nationally for the 2027 class.
This becomes the latest blockbuster transfer to happen out of South Florida as movement across Broward and Dade counties has been rampant since the 2025 high school football season ended.
It was just Monday night that 2028 four-star Amir Sears announced his intention to leave West Broward for Miami Columbus and 2028 three-star quarterback Brady Quinn also made news by transferring from Naples Lely to Chaminade-Madonna.
The hits keep coming for Miami Northwestern as they lost defensive coordinator Keith Brown, who accepted the head coaching position at Miami Norland as the school looks for their next head coach.
The Bulls losing a player of Lennear’s caliber is a major hit to a team that was just seconds away from repeating as FHSAA Class 3A state champions. Lennear in 2025 was a two-way force for the Bulls as one of their top receivers and defensive backs, playing both in the 3A title loss to Raines.
