Lions Amon-Ra St. Brown on controversial play
Amon-Ra St. Brown said the game didn’t come down to the pass interference called on the final play, saying that the Lions needed to execute better.
Amon-Ra St. Brown is trending toward playing in the Detroit Lions‘ game against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday (4:30 p.m., Netflix).
The wide receiver was upgraded to a limited participant on the Lions‘ estimated practice report Tuesday, Dec. 23, one day after he was listed a non participant.
The Lions held walk-throughs in lieu of practice this week.
“It’s positive news, but he’s a little irritated,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said. “There’s a little irritation, so short week, we’ll see. But I would say it’s still positive news.”
St. Brown played 72 of a possible 74 offensive snaps in the Lions’ 29-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week and reported the injury when he showed up in Allen Park on Monday.
Running back David Montgomery (illness) and defensive back Avonte Maddox (back/illness) were listed as non-participants in practice, and nine other Lions were listed as limited.
Center Graham Glasgow was listed as a full participant two days after missing Sunday’s game with a knee injury. Campbell said he’s not sure if Glasgow or Kingsley Eguakun will start at center against a Vikings team that flummoxed the Lions with their pass rush in a 27-24 upset in Week 9.
“Look, I was encouraged by Kingsley,” Campbell said. “I thought he did a good job, so we’re kind of weighing that right now, too, and then Graham’s dealt with this knee a little bit so just thinking about it.”
