The college football bowl season is in full swing. From coach mayonnaise showers to the ceremonial funeral of a life-size Pop-Tart, postgame celebrations are often even more memorable than the game itself. For the first time, Bush’s Beans sponsored the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday. As you might imagine, the trophy presentation was … unique.

With Louisville’s 27-22 win over Toledo at FAU Stadium, the Cardinals had the privilege of eating Bush’s Beans out of the trophy. To top it off, the trophy is a giant bowl of beans that features a removable top. Actor Keegan-Michael Key, of “Key & Peele” fame, presented the gigantic bowl to the Cardinals players.

Bush’s Beans was announced as the bowl’s title sponsor in November. The first 2,000 fans to bring a can of Bush’s Beans to the stadium received a complimentary ticket and a beans bucket hat.

Bush’s Beans was founded in 1908. According to the company’s website, A.J. Bush started the business at a small Tennessee cannery in the Great Smoky Mountains. If you’d like to get in on the bean-tasting act, the Bush’s Beans Visitor Center in Chestnut Hill, Tenn., offers free bean samples and a tour commemorating the company’s history.

“At Bush’s, we feel intimately connected to this bigger bean story,” the company writes on its website. “The story of the bean itself. And that’s why for generations, we’ve been committed to nothing else. Building our community, our company and our values around that humble little bundle of goodness.”
