Kevin Harlan getting Raiders-Giants means the number 1 pick is going to be decided by an incredible play at the end of the game that we will all remember for years https://t.co/Mf99zBppAX

Since the NFL has three games scheduled for Christmas Day on Thursday and two on Saturday, the main slate on Sunday is quite bare — just nine games are scheduled. The early 1:00 pm window gets the lion’s share of those games (seven), leaving just two for the late window.

The two games in the late window could not be more opposed in importance.

The 4:05 game on CBS is a matchup between the league’s two worst teams — the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders — who both enter Week 17 with 2-13 records, scrambling for the right to secure the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Some prognosticators are calling this game the Tank Bowl. Bottom line: The loser is the real winner in this one.

The second game, at 4:25 on FOX, features the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles traveling to Buffalo to take on the Bills and Josh Allen.

Now, how many people do you think will be turning the channel at 4:25 from CBS to FOX? We’re guessing a whole lot. These two teams could find themselves in the Super Bowl this February.

The Giants are on a nine-game losing streak and have lost 13 consecutive road games going back to last season. The Raiders are also on a nine-game skid. They are just 1-6 at home this year.

No matter where one turns on late Sunday afternoon, Tom Brady will have some influence and interest. He is a minority owner of the Raiders, and he will be serving as the booth analyst for the Bills-Eagles game.
