The Las Vegas Raiders are entering Week 17 as holders of the No. 2 overall selection in the real-time 2026 NFL draft order. Sunday’s showdown versus the fellow 2-13 New York Giants could decide who owns the top pick in April’s festivities. It’s a potentially franchise-altering game for both organizations.
Until further notice, the Raiders are choosing at No. 2 in 2026 NFL mock drafts. The Draft Network recently dropped their latest iteration. They have the Raiders going with Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore.
“The Las Vegas Raiders should strongly consider trading this pick and rebuilding the roster before committing to a quarterback, but teams rarely pass up this opportunity,” The Draft Network wrote. “Dante Moore has had an excellent season, showcasing every trait necessary to convince decision-makers that he’s a future franchise signal-caller. The Geno Smith and Pete Carroll era might be short-lived in Vegas, with Moore taking over in 2026.”
Oregon will play Texas Tech in the quarterfinal round of the College Football Playoff on New Year’s Day (1/1). The five-seed Ducks are among the handful of favorites to win the National Championship. With remaining eligibility, Moore will announce his 2026 NFL draft decision after Oregon’s playoff run concludes.
If the Raiders clinch a top-two selection, they’ll almost certainly use that opportunity to draft a quarterback. Moore and Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza are largely expected to be the top two signal-callers available. The Geno Smith era may last just one year in Vegas.
