Ahead of its Christmas Day showdown at the Minnesota Vikings (7-8), the Detroit Lions (8-7) elevated a pair from its practice squad.

The Lions elevated Kingsley Eguakun, who just made his first career start last week for the Lions at center against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and tight end Giovanni Ricci.

Eguakun spent all of 2024 on the Lions’ practice squad after Detroit signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Florida. Per Pro Football Focus, Eguakun earned a pass blocking grade of 74.7 across his 71 snaps last week against the Steelers.

Eguakun’s 59.9 offensive grade from PFF stood as the highest for any Lions offensive line starter against Pittsburgh.

Though starting center Graham Glasgow was listed as a full participant in each of the Lions’ final two injury reports this week, Detroit needs a solid backup option at center with Trystan Colon listed as questionable.

Ricci has seen a combined 26 snaps over the past two weeks for the Lions, per PFF. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound tight end is yet to record a statistic this season with the Lions, but he does have nine career receptions for 102 yards dating back to his time with the Carolina Panthers.
