The Eagles could get one of their Pro Bowl defensive players back on the field for Sunday’s nationally televised matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Defensive tackle Jalen Carter returned to practice for the first time since the November 28 game against the Chicago Bears. He’s missed the past three games with injuries to both shoulders. Despite the layoff, the Pro Bowl starter was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.

The Eagles will be off on Thursday for the Christmas holiday, so the injury report will be an estimation. The team reconvenes at the NovaCare Complex for a final practice on Friday before Saturday’s departure to Buffalo.

Tackle Lane Johnson suffered a foot injury in the November 16 win over the Detroit Lions that has caused him to miss the past five contests. He has yet to return to practice, not participating on Wednesday.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean exited Saturday’s win over the Commanders with a hamstring injury. He did not practice on Wednesday. Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said on Tuesday that Dean is “iffy for this week.”

If Dean is unable to play, Jihaad Campbell would start alongside Pro Bowl linebacker Zack Baun.

“He did fine,” Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said of the first-round pick’s development. “Obviously, when we had to move him to OLB there when we ran out of guys for a few weeks, it kind of slowed his development or progress as an ILB. It’d be good to get him back there and focused on that.”

Wide receiver A.J. Brown did not practice on Wednesday after having a procedure on his wisdom teeth.

Guard Landon Dickerson missed Wednesday’s practice due to an illness.

Tight end Cameron Latu missed the Commanders game with a stinger. He was a full participant on Wednesday.
