PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers received some promising news on multiple injured players. Outside linebacker T.J. Watt made headlines with his return to the field, but cornerback James Pierre and guard Isaac Seumalo returned, too.
Seumalo, who suffered a triceps injury against the Dolphins, did not practice last week and missed the team’s game against the Lions. Even still, he is now back on the field and that could track with a return to the lineup against the Browns if the Steelers need it.
Meanwhile, Pierre has missed the last two weeks with a calf strain and was back on the field after a Tuesday workout. The Steelers hope to get him back after a breakout campaign throughout the year.
Running back Jaylen Warren is injured and popped up with a hip issue, yet he was limited. That bodes well for Warren to play on Sunday against the Browns despite head coach Mike Tomlin saying he would be limited to start the week.
Lastly, the Steelers were without two players. Slot cornerback Brandin Echols (groin) and wide receiver Calvin Austin III (hamstring) did not practice, and they were the only two players absent from practice with injury-related issues.
The Steelers also saw outside linebacker Nick Herbig, who Tomlin said he is optimistic will play this week, back at practice in a limited capacity.
